Dualla Community Centre Project

Introduction
Challenges Faced:
1. Balancing Heritage Preservation with Modernization: The main challenge was striking a balance between preserving the historical significance of the protected building and integrating modern construction techniques and materials.
2. Ensuring Sustainable Solutions: Implementing eco-friendly solutions while maintaining cost-effectiveness required meticulous planning and execution.
3. Coordinating Multiple Systems: Integrating the low-current systems seamlessly into the building infrastructure without compromising aesthetics and functionality demanded careful coordination.

Project Overview:
Our first challenge was the refurbishment of the existing protected building. We had to ensure the preservation of its historical character while making it fit for contemporary use. This involved delicate restoration work, including the installation of new lime plaster to maintain the building's integrity.
To meet the growing needs of the community, we constructed a modern 70-square-meter extension adjacent to the protected building. This addition seamlessly integrated with the existing architecture while providing additional space for various activities and functions.
The exterior was enhanced with the installation of tarmac around the building, ensuring easy access and providing a smooth, durable surface for outdoor events and parking.
To ensure the safety and efficiency of the facility, we performed a complete rewiring of the electrical system. This upgrade not only met modern electrical standards but also provided the capacity for future expansion.
Sustainability was a key consideration for this project. We installed a state-of-the-art air-to-air heating system that significantly improved energy efficiency and reduced the environmental footprint of the building.
The interiors and exteriors of both the protected building and the new extension were fully painted to not only preserve their appearance but also to enhance their aesthetic appeal.
In line with modern technology requirements, we installed a comprehensive low-current system, including a fire alarm system, CCTV surveillance, and network cabling. These systems added a layer of security and connectivity essential for a community center.
